How to Use the File

What You’ll Need

This file is pretty simple, all you’ll need is:

  • Printer and computer
  • Adobe Reader to edit the file (it’s free!)
  • White paper or cardstock
  • Scissors or a straight edge cutter
  • A hole puncher (optional) for adding string
  • Ribbon or twine for attaching the tags to your gifts

Instructions

  1. Download the file to your computer.
  2. Open the PDF in Adobe Reader (if you don’t have it, you can download it for free – see below for information about other programs.)
  3. (Optional) Fill in your child’s name using Adobe Reader
  4. Print as many copies of the gift tags page as you need on white printer paper or cardstock.
  5. Carefully cut out the tags using scissors or a paper cutter.
  6. Attach the tag to each gift using tape, ribbon, or string.

This file works best if opened in Adobe Acrobat. It may be able to open in other programs (e.g. Mac Preview), but I cannot guarantee that it will provide the best printing properties.

Important Tips to Remember

Ensure your wish lists come out looking flawless with these quick tips:

  • Double check that names are spelled correctly before printing.
  • A straight-edge paper cutter makes the cards look a little neater, but scissors will do just fine.
  • Set your printer to “Best Quality” mode to bring out the vibrant colors.
  • These designs will look best on matte printer paper or white card stock, but you can use regular printer paper as well.
  • It’s always a good idea to do a test print first to ensure alignment, printer settings, and quality.
  • Save the file some where you can remember so you can use it year after year, or laminate the tags so you don’t have to print out new tags next Christmas.
  • Get creative and add glitter, rhinestones, stickers or other embellishments to personalize the tags for your kids.
