Step 2 – Add a few drops of green gel food coloring on top of the sherbet, and pour the pineapple juice on top. Do not stir the food coloring in.
Step 3 – Top with 2 liters of Sprite and stir once or twice to swirl the food coloring around, being careful not to mix it in all the way.
Step 4 – Add gummy worms, spiders, or other spooky treats for decoration.
Essential Tips:
Don’t skip these tips – read them before mixing to avoid any potential mistakes.
- Make sure your pineapple juice and Sprite are well chilled before preparing the witches brew.
- Avoid over stirring your green Halloween punch. You want the green gel food coloring to swirl around for that added effect.
- Make sure you don’t serve inedible props like the plastic spiders in the little kids cups.
- To make party day easier, you can scoop the sherbet onto a baking sheet the day before the party, and add the scoops to the punch right before the party starts.
Adaptations and Variations:
- Get creative with the food coloring! Add a bit of blue or red food coloring to create fun streaks of color. (Just remember to be careful, because mixing too many colors can just end up with a muddy brown mess.)
- If you want to cut down on sugar, you can use diet soda or flavored sparkling water in place of the Sprite. There are some great flavored water drinks that would work really well.
- Use a large plastic cauldron or a black punch bowl to really make it look like witches have been bubbling away at your house.
- Or you can serve it in these fun cauldron mugs with Halloween themed paper straws.
- Instead of gummy worms why not add some plastic eyeballs or other spooky critters to the punch? If you are using inedible props, make sure your children are aware not to swallow them.
- Colored ice can also be a fun way to add some spookiness to your witches brew punch. Take it up an extra notch with ice made with food coloring in Halloween shaped molds.

FAQs:
Can I Make this Halloween Punch in Advance?
No. I wouldn’t recommend preparing this recipe in advance as the sherbet will melt and lose it’s foamy texture.
I Can’t find Lime Sherbet. What Can I Use Instead?
The sherbet and the carbonated drink will give its bubbly appearance, but if you can’t find any lime sherbet you could add lemon sherbet or vanilla ice cream instead. Vanilla ice cream might change the color slightly, but it will still be a fun drink for your Halloween party.

Can I make an adult-only version with alcohol?
Of course, and why wouldn’t you want to? This makes a fun drink even for adults at Halloween. Add a cup of vodka or rum to a batch of your punch to give it that extra edge. But please remember to label it as adults only and keep it away from the kids.
Can I add dry ice to this to make it smoky?
Yes, smoking punch is stunning to see but dry ice isn’t safe to consume, so I don’t recommend using it when kids are around.
Storage Tips and Freezing advice
The punch is best consumed on the day it’s made. If you happen to have any leftovers, store them in a pitcher in the refrigerator.
Just know that the carbonation will dissipate and the punch may separate. Simply give it a stir and it should still be yummy. (You can also top off with a bit of fresh soda to add carbonation)
