How to Make St. Patrick’s Day Pudding Parfaits
What You’ll Need:
Ingredients:
- 5.1 oz container vanilla pudding mix
- 5 cups cold milk
- Whipped cream
- 1 cup Lucky Charms cereal
Supplies
- 1 medium mixing bowl (or large liquid measuring cup)
- 1 small mixing bowl
- Whisk
- 5 parfait cups, about 1-cup each (see common questions below)

Directions:
Step 1: Mix together the pudding according to package directions
I like to simply add the pudding mixture to my glass measuring cup and whisk it right in there.
Simple, easy, and fewer dishes to clean!
Step 2: Layer the Different Puddings
Add a bit of vanilla pudding to your parfait cup. Follow that with a little bit of green pudding, smoothing out with the back of a spoon. Then, finish it off with one more layer of vanilla.
Place the prepared parfaits in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes to finish setting.
Step 3: Add Your Toppings
Finish the St. Patrick’s Day pudding cups with a bit of whipped cream and sprinkle with Lucky Charms cereal. Voila! You’re ready to share this treat with your kids.
Common Questions:
Can You Substitute Different Pudding Flavors?
Personally, I love pistachio pudding, but I know it’s not top of many kids lists.
You can substitute both the vanilla and pistachio flavors with any white colored pudding mix, such as white chocolate or cheesecake.
Then simply separate one third of your pudding mixture and add a bit of green food coloring to create the colorful layers.
What if I don’t have parfait glasses?
No problem! You could just as easily substitute the parfait cups I used with any clear cups. Here are some ideas:
- Use 10 ounce clear plastic cups quick cleanup
- Make mini pudding parfaits using clear plastic shot glasses
- Go big and bold with clear plastic reusable wine goblets (we have these and love them!)
Please note: using a different size dish will result in a different quantity than stated in the recipe, so please plan accordingly.
What if I can’t find Lucky Charms Cereal?
This does become a problem right around St. Patrick’s Day, doesn’t it? Feel free to substitute any other colorful cereal, Here are some ideas:
- Fruit Loops
- Fruity Pebbles
- Rainbow Sprinkles
- Marshmallow Charms only.
Can Pudding Parfaits be Made in Advance?
You can layer your parfaits up to a day in advance. Just hold off on the whipped cream and cereal until you’re ready to serve.
