Essential Tips:
Don’t skip these tips – read them before mixing to avoid any potential mistakes.
- Make sure you start with softened cream cheese. Cut it into cubes and leave it on the counter for 30-45 minutes, then beat it with your mixer.
- If you want a milder strawberry flavor, you can use as little as 3 teaspoons of gelatin.
- You can make this completely sugar free by using a sugar free jello.
- This dip is very sweet on its own, which is why I don’t recommend substituting store bought whipped cream.
What to serve with Strawberry Cream Cheese Fruit Dip:
This dip is delicious with a variety of dippers. Here are some of our favorites:
- Strawberries (of course!)
- Apple slices
- Sugar wafers
- Nilla wafers
- Homemade graham crackers
- Pretzels, and
- Oreos
Note: Because the dip is pretty thick, you’ll need to make sure your dippers are sturdy, and won’t fall apart.
FAQs:
How much will I need for my party?
Honestly, a bunch of factors like time of day, ages of the guests, and current season have a significant impact when determining how much food for a party is just right. Thankfully, you can grab a free copy of my food calculator cheat sheet at the bottom of this post.
Why does my dip have red specks?
Because the gelatin isn’t dissolved prior to mixing, it leaves small red specks in the dip. It doesn’t affect the flavor at all, however.
Can I use other Jello flavors?
I don’t see why not!
Have fun experimenting with different flavors and flavor combinations. Just be sure to make a test batch before serving it at a party.
Ho can I make my fruit dip more fluffy?
To make the dip less thick and more fluffy, increase the amount of whipping cream to 2-3 cups.
Fold 1/4 cup at a time of whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until you get your desired texture.
How to Store Strawberry Fruit Dip
Store your fruit dip refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 1 week. If your dip thickens during refrigeration, you can stir in a teaspoon or so of heavy whipping cream to smooth it out.
I don’t recommend freezing the fruit dip, because the heavy cream and cream cheese can change texture when frozen.
