Essential tips:
Don’t skip these tips – read them before mixing to avoid any potential mistakes.
- Make sure you use coconut cream and not coconut milk. The cream is thicker in consistency and also more intense in flavor.
- Use a good quality blender to ensure a smooth consistency. Mixing with a whisk may end up with a lumpy punch – and that’s just not appetizing.
- Substitute with coconut or pineapple flavored sparkling water for an extra burst of flavor. Just make sure to use an unsweetened brand or it will be too sweet.
- Add some ice cubes to your blender and enjoy it as a frozen pina colada slushy.
- Use plain water instead of seltzer and then freeze the mixture in molds to make pina colada popsicles. Yum!
Frequently asked questions:
Yes, you can! I’ve got all the details in the storage tips section below
Absolutely! To make a single glass of Pina Colada Punch, just blend 1/2 – 2/3 cup pineapple juice and 1 – 2 tablespoons coconut cream in a smoothie cup. Top with seltzer water, garnish and enjoy!
The coconut cream is thicker in consistency and helps to make a smoother drink. However, you will also find that the coconut cream is sweeter in flavor. The milk, albeit a great substitute, won’t give you the ultimate flavor you will want from this punch.
Sure. Traditionally a pina colada will have Barcardi Rum added to it. This is a mocktail version, but you can easily make it a cocktail by adding your chosen white spirit.
How to Store Virgin Pina Colada Punch
Once the seltzer is added, this punch is best enjoyed immediately.
Make ahead: If you like, you can mix it up a day in advance and store it covered in the fridge. When ready to serve, give the mixture a good whisk, top with seltzer water and add any desired garnishes.
Leftovers: Keep any leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. The bubbles will dissipate, but it will still be tasty to drink
