Halloween Costumes

It’s that time of year again to get started with buying or making Halloween costumes! T hasn’t yet worn a commercially made Halloween costume, though I’m sure that day will come. My MIL came over this weekend and together we got started making a costume for T. Even though it’s still sitting on the dining room table, only half finished, the little one has already asked to wear it more than once! Hopefully it will be a hit!

If you don’t remember, or weren’t around at the time, last year we dressed her up in a “butterfly” costume, re-purposing her birthday tutu by adding some easily found fairy wings.

I did a quick search for DIY costumes and found a few other cute ideas that would be fun to try as T gets older.

There are several different takes on the hot air balloon.  This version from Country Living is adorable.

What parent doesn’t have an abundance of stuffed animals in the house?  This Raining Cats & Dogs costume from Real Simple is creative and cute!  (Side note:  what about using a clear umbrella and adding pigs with wings…this could really be modified to fit a variety of Muppet skits too!)

You know your kid is as sweet as sugar…so why not turn them into candy for Halloween.  I just love this Candy Dots costume from Dollar Store Crafts!

If I still had an infant, this would definitely be near the top of the list!  Country Living shares an easy DIY for a precious octopus costume!
