Cheap DIY Party Backdrop

This simple DIY train party backdrop comes together quickly, costs less than $30, and can be easily re-purposed over and over again.

you'll need:

– Polystyrene Board – Party Backdrop Frame (optional) – Blue Paint – 2-3 shades of green paint – Paper plate or palette for the green paint – Binder rings (optional) – DIY Paper Train – Party Banner – Blu-Tack

Step 1

Grab a 4ft by 8ft Polystyrene Board from your hardware store.

Step 2

Measure the height of your backdrop frame and the height of your party table.

Step 3

Cut Your Board to Fit the Backdrop Frame

Step 4

Remove the plastic coating off of the styrofoam.

Step 5

Place the board on a flat surface and use a paint roller to paint a blue sky background.

Step 6

Measure up 2-4 inches shorter than your table, and paint a rough rolling hill on your backdrop.

Step 7

If you're using a backdrop frame, attach the painted board to the frame.

Step 8

Add your paper train to the backdrop.

Step 9

Add your happy birthday banner.
