It’s been very difficult for me to keep up with all of the networking that is associated with blogging. Partially it’s because I’m restricted from a lot of these sites when I’m at work and then also I’ve been doing most of the housework and baby care on nights and weekends while the husband works on his degree. Add in the party planning, crafting and writing blog posts, and I’m left with no more time.
In addition to all of the above, a large impediment to getting involved with Twitter and being more of a Facebook hound is also that I had a cell phone from the dark ages. Seriously, I couldn’t even receive picture messages. For a long time the husband and I rationalized it as a money saver because we weren’t paying more than about $40 a month for my phone. (Is it bad that the Pope was on Twitter before me?)
Then his company moved off of the same network; our house phone starting freaking out and going off line for days at a time. That’s when the overages started to creep upward. Far upward. As in, over $100 upward. So, I bit the bullet and got myself a new toy:

…and I love it! I’ll still be limited to the amount of time I can spend participating in social media, but hopefully I can stay a bit more connected now! Yay!
