I’m in a bit of shock right now. Both of my girls have seem to have decided what they want to be for Halloween, and haven’t changed their minds once. I haven’t started making their costumes, though, because the Husband and I fully expect that they’ll decide they want something different the day before Halloween.
Part of me wishes we could convince the kids to join in on family themed Halloween costumes. But that’s not likely. So I decided to browse the internet to find some fun ideas in the hopes that next year I can do a better job convincing them.
Of course, we all love donuts…especially since we’ve found how effective they are at bribing the kids to be well behaved during church. I can see our girls’ donut costumes covered with pink frosting and sprinkles, and the baby as a little chocolate eclair (see more over at Pink Pistachio)
We all watched My Neighbor Totoro a couple months ago, and it was a really sweet movie. Ever since then, I’ve had visions of all three kids dressed as the small, medium, and large Totoros. Either that or making the Husband dress up as the big Totoro. (found over at All About Ami)
So, we’ve all watched classic Japanese anime, but none of us in this family have actually seen Despicable Me. That doesn’t keep T from obsessing over the movie and those silly minions. This family costume is pretty darn great, though. (from CosGeek)
After all the paranoia this summer, I get a a completely insensitive giggle from the idea of this Shark Attack family costume. Thanks to Fickle Pickle for the idea.
I feel like I saved the best for last with this total 80s Labyrinth throwback. The Husband has already showed it to T, who loves it. What I would give to see the Husband in a David Bowie wig and tight pants. (check out the awesomeness at Flies in My Eyes)
Maybe we’ll get lucky and the girls will actually change their minds in favor of family themed Halloween costumes. I just hope that they give me enough time to actually pull it together!
