I started 2015 off with lots of plans. Time to lose the last few pounds, and make some big changes. Everything was looking like this would be the best year yet. The Husband and I even kicked the year off in our favorite way…spending New Year’s Eve with a movie, a bottle of champagne and just spending lots of time together.
A few days before that, we found out about being invited to Napa with the Husband’s company…a very happy surprise indeed!
And we had already made lots of progress converting T’s room into a shared room for both girls.
But as the calendar changed from 2014 to 2015, we had no idea what was lying just beneath the surface. I knew something was off. Things just didn’t seem right. I’ve been tracking my cycles since before the Husband and I were married over 8 years ago…and things just weren’t tracking the way they normally do. So when the Husband poured me a glass of chardonnay for dinner on January 2nd, I headed to our bathroom and took one of the the simplest-but biggest-tests you can ever take.
The line was faint…but it was definitely there. And since I’d had a negative pregnancy test just two days before on New Year’s Eve (otherwise I wouldn’t have had that champagne), I was in complete shock. The Husband was probably more shocked than I was. I don’t know how many times he asked an incredulous “really???”
It turns out one of the questions I included in my post that same morning was already answered for us.
Not long after that, I got additional confirmation with typical first trimester exhaustion, indigestion and nausea. Meanwhile, my workload doubled at the day job. Fun times. So instead of getting to enjoy my lunch reading everyone’s blogs, I’ve been getting in early, working late, and working straight through lunch; only to pass out right after the kids are in bed.
So, yes, I’m behind in both posting and visiting. Please forgive me. Things are in a bit of upheaval right now, but I promise to be back soon.
And for those who might want to see it, here’s our newest little one; 12 weeks along:
